Who wants to star in the next flick from Oscar god Paul Haggis? Probably every soul in Hollywood. But the next actor to join the helmer's directorial follow-up to Crash — titled In the Valley of Elah — might be Narc's Jason Patric, who is currently in negotiations to join Tommy Lee Jones and Charlize Theron in the true tale of a Vietnam vet (Jones), whose son goes AWOL after returning from Iraq. Haggis penned the screenplay (as well as those of Million Dollar Baby and Flags of Our Fathers), which is based on a piece in Playboy. Theron's plays a homicide investigator and Patric would portray a military police investigator, and both are trying to solve the son's disappearance. … Meanwhile, Gus Van Sant has found the lead to his next one, Paranoid Park. Newbie Gabe Nevis will star as a skateboarder who accidentally kills a security guard and faces the emotional repercussions. — E.C.
